Baby Update

I wanted to send out a special baby update.

First, Steven and I have a new Niece and Preston has a new Cousin. Her name is Evelyn but her parents are calling her Evie. Here is a photo.
Second, I felt our baby kick for the first time last night. I was lying in bed reading and felt 3 little taps inside my tummy. It was very sweet and an encouraging reminder that things are going well. I am now 15 weeks and happily into the 2nd Trimester. My energy has returned and I am just slightly starting to show.

Garage Sale Update and Photos

I am happy to report that our Garage Sale was an overall success. While we didn't get as many 'shoppers' as I had hoped for, the people who came to shop did buy and were very generous. Some of our big ticket items included a tred mill, a gps and a Gucci bag. We sold a few clothing items, frames, vases and glass pieces. Overall, we made $200 and all the proceeds go to our Missions Trip next week. I will be sure to share more details about our trip in a few days.

In other news, part of our neighbors tree feel down the other day. You can see the sight in the photo I took from our window on Thursday. We are so thankful that it did not hit our fence but simply fell over. Our neighbor had a friend come and chop everything down so all is 'normal' again.
The Dalbey trio also attending a Birthday party last night for our dear friend, Sarah. We had so much fun playing tennis and volleyball, hanging out with students and eating some yummy pizza. Thank you, Sarah, for the invite!

Some nice families at our Church have also donated some items for our sale which is a blessing. Please stop by our house anytime between 9am and 2pm, buy some cool stuff, hang out and donate to our Missions Trip. Please email showkat8@gmail.com for our address. We look forward to seeing you.

Tiger Fan

Preston is a true Mizzou Tiger Fan. Just look at him in this sweet outfit from the Duke Family - he is a stud!
Here are a few photos of Preston in his Mizzou outfit playing outside. I am working to teach him how to ride his tricycle. He just needs to grow another inch or so to reach the peddles.

Animal Friends

Preston loves his animal friends. This morning he decided to climb in his toy bin with all his friends to play for a while. I think this is super sweet. Here are a few photos.

M I Z Z O U!

Steven and I headed to Mizzou this weekend for a mini get-a-way. Our plan was to see some friends in Columbia and meet up with some students who used to be involved in our Youth Group. We had an absolute blast and wish we could have stayed longer. This trip was very special to me (Katrina) since I went to Mizzou and I have many special memories. Here is how our trip went: We arrived in Columbia on Friday evening and had dinner with some students. Katrina stayed with the girls in South dorm and Steven stayed with the guys in Laws dorm that evening. The next morning we headed out for some Mizzou touring and hanging out.
First, the columns that make Mizzou famous!
Here we are at Lunch at Shakespeare's Pizza:
Here is Katrina with the girls:
Here is Steven with the boys:
Here is my first home at Mizzou - Laws Hall. I only lived there for a semester.
Here is my second home at Mizzou - The Pi Phi House. I lived here for 3 years.
Here is Katrina inside the Pi Phi house holding her 'Buddy of the Year' trophy. I won this trophy after volunteering one weekend with Special Olympics. I like to call this the little legacy I left behind for the house to enjoy!
Here is Steven and me at the game on Saturday evening. Oh yes, we stopped by the RUF tailgate party before the game but leader Ross was not around. I guess we will have to make another trip to MU :) I just love this pic and seeing my husband in a Mizzou T-shirt.
I love watching all the game entertainment.
After a really good game the Tigers pull ahead to win in the last 2 minutes of play. M-I-Z-Z-O-U!
Thank you, Grammie and Papa for taking very good care of Preston while we were away. This trip would not have been possible without you.

Parade

Our city of Richmond Heights had a parade this afternoon that went right in front of our house. Personally, I think this is a wonderful bonus for living on our slightly busy street, and we took full advantage of viewing the parade from our front yard. Preston was super excited about the parade because he knew that meant he would be able to see the Fire Trucks, Police cars and other cool vehicles. Here are a few photos from the parade.
First, a picture of hte Dalbey Trio.

This is our street before the parade. It looks nice without cars parked in front of houses.

Here are the super cool Shriner cars. They did all sorts of turns and twists for Preston and the other kids watching the parade.

Here is a view of the parade and all the cool cars. Here, we can can see the Fire Truck, Fire Chief Car, a Bucket truck, etc...
Preston was super excited to get a lolipop. I sat with Preston while he ate his lolipop and he enjoyed every lick.

Here is my patriotic child!

A few photos

Here are a couple fun photos of Preston from the past few days. The first is a photo of Preston and Steven at the Zoo on Monday. Preston wanted to look at the animals more than he wanted to look at the camera. The second photo is from today. Preston is being super silly with his spoon at lunch. I think this is hilarious. Enjoy your weekend.

I really like Silly Bands

Lately, I really like silly bands. You know what I am talking about. Silly bands are those fun bracelets that come in all sorts of different shapes and colors. You can't tell what they are when you are wearing them, but take them off and presto - instant fun. Lately, this Buzz Light Year silly band is my favorite because I use it to help stretch my pant size just a bit. I am now 12 weeks pregnant and not quite big enough to fit into my maternity clothes. I can still put on my regular pants...just can't zip it all the way up or fasten the button. These silly bands are making it possible for me to wear my normal clothes just a little longer. Thank you for you help, Buzz Light Year. You have saved me from needing to go out and buy new pants.

Runner Boy and Update

Many of you know that Preston LOVES to run. Steven and I call him runner boy because he wants to run everywhere we go. No matter if we are on a walk, at the park, or inside the house Preston wants to run. We have to tell him a lot that running is for outside and not inside. I believe we have a track star on our hands. Since today is a beautiful day and we are off work we took Preston outside for some fun and exercise. I told him that he could run down the driveway to me and that I would take his picture. Here are a few sweet shots - enjoy.

Oh yes, Preston update: Preston is now 25 months and doing great. He continues to love to play with his trucks, cars and trains and spends hours each day talking to them and having a blast. He also loves when we read to him and has started 'reading' on his own. This morning he sat in the reading room for 30 minutes just looking at all his books. Now, they are all on the floor but that is ok. Finally, his verbal skills continue to progress nicely. He talks all the time and wants to learn what everything is called and tell me everything that he does. I think this is really sweet.

Cousin Alice

My sister, Sherrie, and her daughter, Alice, stopped by for a visit the other night. Alice is now almost 2 months old but she was born about 8 weeks early so only weighs about 7 lbs. She is, however, doing very well and continues to grow. Here are a few pictures from our visit and I hope to take some better photos of her later.
