Cousins

All of the cousins on my side of the family gathered together this past weekend.  It was a loud but joyful afternoon.  Now, it was quite difficult to capture an image of all the kids 'looking' or 'smiling' for/at the camera so I thought this image was pretty good.

Weekend Wrap Up

So much happened over the Thanksgiving weekend.  I took a lot of photos with my 'real' camera but I am not finished editing.  So, here are some random photos from my iPhone to give you a quick preview of events.
First, we had all 5 cousins together on Saturday.  It was a blast!  So much energy, so many toys and so different at Grandma and Grandad's house compared to a couple years ago.  I have another photo of all the kids that I will post tomorrow.
My sister, Tracey, was in town with her husband and 4 month old daughter.  They brought their bouncy seat with them but Peyton decided she wanted to use it as her own seat.  Poor girl, I think she just wanted to take a nap.  She is slightly more introverted than her other cousins.
On Sunday morning Peyton started coughing.  Can you see her excitement?
I kept her home from Church to minimize contamination.  Preston, however, still has more energy than a bullet train and insisted on having music 'class' on Sunday afternoon. It was loud and sweet.
On Sunday evening the kids asked if they could go outside and swing. We didn't stay outside long but long enough for Preston to swap seats with his sister.  Can you see the excitement?
Peyton, however, was a bit more cautious.  She didn't last long.
Well, we make it through Monday and now we are home today.  The kids enjoyed a nice 'picnic' while I rested on the floor.  I'm still trying to catch up on sleep from a busy weekend.
More photos of family to come.

Family Photos

Another huge thank you goes out to Kaylie Duke for taking these fall family photos.  Man, it was hard to get the kids to look at the camera but these pictures are so wonderful.
I am so thankful for my family, my loving husband and two beautiful children.

Catching up on more pics

As I mentioned in my previous post we had a much needed family weekend a few days ago.  Ahh, its the simple things in life that matter.  During our family time we took a much needed walk down the street to our favorite park that we have affectionately named 'Turtle Park' even though that is not he actual name.  Now, the turtles seem to be 'hiding' due to the cool weather, but the trees are still enjoying a bit of their peek.  Here are some photos.  First, a beautiful tree down the street.
Another beautiful tree in our neighborhood.
A sweet picture of Peyton.  Notice the green frog boots have made it back on the scene.
Oh yes, Preston rode his bike to and from the park.  That is about a 2 mile round trip - good job, buddy.
We also spent some time working on our backyard patio.  It is not yet complete, but very close.  We need to finish this section, make sure everything is level and then fill the sand in between  I can't wait to post 'finished' pictures of this and our deck.
Hey, it look pretty good so far.
Finally, I did something bold this weekend. I dyed my hair.  OK, I was going for a light brown look....it turned out a bit more reddish brown.  I actually really like it.  I hope to post more photos soon as we are having something take a few family pictures this weekend.

Family Weekend

The Dalbey family had a much needed family weekend the past few days.  This meant no official plans, no appointments, no work and no schedule.  It was great.  It had been about a month since we had an entire day together.  What did we do?  We went to the park, we played with toys, we cleaned up the house, we worked on the patio and just spent some good quality time together.  We need this more often.  I am SO thankful the holiday's are coming up and some time for this needed rest.  Here is a family photo I took on Sunday morning before heading off to church.  I thinkyou can tell that we all look a 'little' more rested.

A full week

Its been a full week at the Dalbey house.  Here are a few pictures from our week.
First, a sweet picture of Peyton in her flower hat.
Next, Preston doing flips on the stops at church.  This is totally normal.
Have I mentioned that Peyton LOVES taking care of her babies.  If I haven't, here is a picture to prove her love.  I think she loves all four babies equally.  Notice how they are wrapped up in a towel.
Our week would never be complete without a visit to see Daddy at work.  Have you been to St. Louis Smoothie?  Do you know how AWESOME their drinks are?   Go visit - so worth it.
Oh yes, I voted on Tuesday.  Also, a note to all political campaigns:  None of your TV, Radio or home mailers influenced my decision on who to vote for.  Did I mentioned that I am an independent voter?  Well, I am.  It would be better to take all that money you spent on advertising and send it to clean water efforts in Africa or street children in Honduras. Oh yes, my #1 political issue (even though it should be a human issue) is the environment.  Just an FYI.
The weather is nice in STL this week.  What do we do in the Dalbey family?  We take our T-ball set to the park.  Man, this kid has skills.
Oh yes, we also play hide and seek!
I found the kids before they noticed :)
The trees in STL are still super beautiful.
I love this girl!! She is so sweet and happy.
The Dalbey family is now focusing our efforts on the next Holiday - Thanksgiving.  Have I mentioned that Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday because it is.
Our week would also not be complete without a bike ride around the neighborhood.
Finally, a end of the week lunch at Crown Candy with my dad.  Yummy.

Halloween 2012

Halloween 2012 was a lot of fun at the Dalbey house.  Well, we headed over to Grandad Denton's house to celebrate, dress up in costume, and trick or treat.  We were also joined by cousin Alice and her mom and dad to celebrate the evening.  Here are a few pictures of the kids in their costumes.  I also must share a couple stories behind their costumes.  First, we have Preston...I mean, Buzz Lightyear!
I purchased this costume at Aldi, yes, Aldi 3 years ago for $7.99.  Yes, that means that Preston was about a year old and I have been saving it ever since.  Hey, you just can't go wrong with a Buzz Lightyear costume.  Oh yes, Preston loved the costume.  He told me he wants to be Woody next year.  What an awesome boy.  Here is a picture of Preston saying "to infinity and beyond".
Next, we have sweet Peyton.  Ok, I tried to borrow a costume but didn't have any success.  (Does anyone want to work on a costume exchange for next year?  If so, please let me know).  I ended up going to Target and letting Peyton pick her costume.  I was really pulling for the Ice Cream Cone or the baby Koala bear.  Peyton wanted to be a pink dinosaur which was fine by me.  She makes a very cute pink dinosaur.  Here are a couple pictures of Peyton.  Oh yes, it was VERY hard to capture a picture of Peyton with her dinosaur head on.  Note to self - 1 piece costumes are the way to go!
I think Peyton was more interested in holding her candy basket and preparing for the candy adventure.
Finally, a few pictures of the 2 kids in costume and some other fun photos to share with our viewers.  I hope everyone had a fun and safe Halloween.
Can you tell how excited the kids were to take photos.
 Again, he is 'so excited'.
Peyton decided to give me a sweet little dinosaur roar!!
Finally, a pic with cousin Alice.
This was the best I could do :)
