A Long Drive

Here is our vacation update: we made it to Albequerque, New Mexico tonight. We drove about 13 hours today and are completely exhausted! Preston did very well considering the long drive and we are thankful to be in a clean hotel room for the night. Here are a few photo's from our journey the past day and a half. Tomorrow we will spend the morning in 'Old Town' Albequerque and then we will head to Durango, CO.

This smile is priceless. It brings joy to our hearts each day!
Here is a picture of our pile of stuff...in progress. The Dalbey Trio is leaving tomorrow for vacation. This will be our first real vacation is 2 years. We are heading out to Arizona for 12 days and are SO EXCITED! I plan to post photo's as much as possible.

A Spoon

Please enjoy this video from the other day. I think Preston got a little confused on what a spoon is used for. He brings us so much joy each day!

The Zoo

The Dalbey Trio woke up early this morning and headed to the St. Louis Zoo. We had a great time not only beating the crowds & the heat, but we only had to wait in line for 10 minutes to touch the sting rays. They are at the Zoo for a limited time and we didn't want to miss out.
We also took a nice walk around the zoo to see other animals like the bears, Gorilla, Giraff, Zebra, etc... My (Katrina) personal favorite are the Giraff. I always thoughts it would be nice to have a long neck and not only see over everyone but reach whatever you needed. Anyway, we all had a great time and here are a few photo's.

Dalbey Trio picture

Here is a picture of the Dalbey trio from the other day. We enjoy being together.
Oh yes, Steven took Preston to the Fire Station today to see the big Red Fire Truck and meet a real Fire Fighter. The Fire Station is only a block away from our house and because we see/hear the sirens go by on a daily basis Preston has really become fascinated with the whole thing. I will try to post a picture of Preston in the hat they gave him.

1 year photo shoot

I finally received the email with the proofs from Preston's 1 year photo shoot (this took place on July 24th). I have been wanting to post these pictures before he is much older than a year old and now the time has arrived! Here is our smiley little boy that loves the camera!

Saturday

The Dalbey Trio went to the Botanical Garden this morning. We enjoyed a nice walk, some fresh air and seeing the HUGE fish. Preston enjoyed watching the fish as daddy tossed the food pellets out to them. He also enjoyed walking around the children's area and looking at all the colorful flower designs on the ground. I can't wait to see him climb up the ladder to the sweet treehouse...maybe next summer. Here are a few pictures from our time together this morning as well as some time playing outside in our backyard.

1 year stats

I took Preston to the Pediatrician yesterday for his 1 year check up. Here are his stats: He weighs 21lbs 10oz (30th percentile) and is 31 inches long (80th percentile). The doctor was very pleased to hear that he has been walking for about a month and told me that we should expect to see him running very soon - yikes! He was also very pleased at his verbal skills. Preston has been working on 2 syllable words like thank you, ice cream, picture, etc... We are going to continue to read a lot of books and keep repeating things as much as possible. Now, I am sure that some of you would like some nice 1 year photo's to go along with this post. Well, you are going to have to wait till tomorrow. My computer is still being worked on and I plan on taking some fun photo's tomorrow at the Botanicle Gardens and loading them temporarily onto my work computer. I really am lost without 'my' computer. Have a great Friday!

An Adventure

Here is a story: Last night, I hung out with these girls from youth group. We went Dewey's in Kirkwood for some yummy pizza. We talked, laughed and acted very silly. Here are a couple photo's to show you that we had a good time! :)
After dinner, we took a walk around downtown Kirkwood. We noticed that someone had poured dish soap in the fountain, so we decided to have a little more fun.
After about 10 minutes a police officer came and broke up the party. First, I need to tell you that we were not the only ones playing in the bubbles. Here is a random shot of some little girls having fun.
Second, we did NOT put the soap in the fountain. I don't think the police officer believed us until some other adults came and told him that the soap had been there for hours. Do I not look like a responsible and trustworthy adult? Oh well. Here is a photo of the police car by the fountain.
After we left the fountain, we headed to Tropical Moose for a snow cone - yummy! Thanks for a fun evening girls - I am looking forward to more fun adventure with you.
