Those Darn Teeth

Preston chewing on some rings

Preston chewing on the plastic ring toy

Preston started chewing on Mr. Elephant

Poor guy is about to bite off Mr. Monkey's tail!

Poor Preston! His teeth, or should I say gums, are really bugging him. Steven and I can see the tooth bud and we are sure it is only a matter of days before the little thing breaks through the gums. While this is in progress we can tell that Preston is in some pain because he is chewing on everything. Oh yes, I don't want to forget the drool! We hope that his teething toys, and some infant tylenol, will help him feel better soon.

Too young to drive

Preston is fascinated with keys. He loves holding them, chewing on them and waving them around. He already has his eyes on Darrold the Diesel Jetta and who wouldn't blame him. Darold is a super cool car that gets great gas mileage and will hopefully be around 16 years from now when Preston is attending public school and gets his drivers license. Yes, you heard me - Preston will inherit a super cool car and those keys will be very important.

A walk with Da Da

Today, Steven took the day off! He needed to catch up on some things at home and I wanted to spend more time with him without something planned. Soo...this afternoon we decided to go for a walk with Preston. We bundled him up - thankfully its not that cold outside - and buckled him in the stroller and took off. Preston looked so cute in his little sweater/hat combo! After our walk we headed to REI to check out the sales. We are currently looking for one of those hiking/child carrier back packs. We tested out a nice one at the store but decided to do some homework before we make a purchase. Anyone have any recommendations? Tonight will include 'buddy bath time', dinner and then maybe we will rent a movie. I think its time to catch up on all those movies I have missed the past 6 months. Oh yes, I am also including a video of Preston saying da da. I am still trying to get him to say ma ma but so far no luck.

Weekend Update

The Dalbey Trio weekend update goes like this:

On Friday, I (Katrina) had a stressful day at work. I tried to send out our youth calendar via the lovely bulk mail system but had trouble with everything. Most of my trouble was due to the lack of normalcy in our office since the big move. Needless to say, I was a bit frustrated when I left work and told myself that a weekend without office work would do me good. That evening, I headed to the 'Academy' to coach my cheer and dance team girls perform at their last game of the season. I am sad the season is over, but looking forward to spending more time with Preston. Steven stayed home that evening and invited Uncle Eric to hang out and play video games. Oh yes, thank you Eric for bringing us some Jimmy John's!

On Saturday, we went to visit with Grandma and Grandpa Denton. Grandpa Denton showed us some neat photo's he found of when he was a little boy. Oh my gosh - Preston looks so much like my dad!! Grandpa also took the Dalbey Trio to visit his new office down in Soulard - super cool. That evening, we were tired and decided to stay home. I enjoyed reading, folding laundry and talking with Steven.

On Sunday after Church, Steven and I were guests at a marriage renewal ceremony. Our dear friends Jim and Judy celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary and we were honored to witness the renewal of their love for each other and how they place their trust in the Lord. Here is a family photo from our time together at the the party. We hope our readers also had a good weekend.

Preston is SOO cute!

Ok, I know Preston is my son and as his mother it is my duty to think that he is cute, but he IS cute. I thought I would share some recent pictures of him for our viewers. I guess you could call this a mommy brag post! Oh yes, he continues to be a happy and healthy baby and Steven and I are so thankful for him. The first picture has Preston playing in his room wearing his PJ's from Great Grandma and Grandpa Koslow. The second picture was taken today when I picked him up from Peeps! This outfit is from Aunt Ruthie and Uncle Dan. Thank you!

Long Overdue Update

Here is the long overdue Dalbey Trio update:

Steven:
I just returned from the Senior High ski trip to Crested Butte, CO. I am a bit worn out, but it was a great trip. I enjoyed teaching some of the students that had never been skiing before, how to ski. One of the things that stood out to me was the number of children under the age of 2 that were there skiing. It made me look forward to the day when I can teach my own son to ski. The Dalbey family is also gearing up for our mission trip to Spain in April, with more details to come. I am tired, good night.

Katrina:
I would say that I am doing...ok. I have struggled to maintain a good level of energy the past few weeks. I think the combination of our office move, pumping, working and thinking through some 'life' issues has been wearing me down. I am trying to work on taking some 'time off' so that I can get back to my 'normal' self. One thing I did do to help me rest was visit with my sister, Tracey, this past weekend. We had a wonderful time being with one another and I am thankful for our close relationship. Unfortunately, I do not have a picture to post at this time. I misplaced my small digital camera a few days ago and just found it tonight in my coat pocket - how did it get there?

Preston:
I am still a happy and healthy baby boy. This past weekend, I spent some time with Grammie and Papa Dalbey so that daddy could go on a youth trip and mommy could go and visit Aunt Tracey. I had a great time and I really enjoy playing hide and seek with Papa! I have also recently discovered how to clap my hands. I like to do this often and especially when I eat and when I am playing in my exersaucer. Mommy and Daddy think I look super cute when I clap so I try to do it as much as possible. As far as my mobiliy goes, I am trying really hard to crawl. I have figured out how to get myself up on my hands and knees but cannot figure out how to move myself from one spot to another. I am trying really hard and I would like to figure this out in the next few weeks. For now, I will continue to roll over to get where I would like to be. This helps when I want to play with some of my favorite toys! I am sure Mommy will post some pictures of me very soon! Oh, here is a picture of me in my tie dye outfit.

6 Month Portraits

Steve and I took Preston in for some studio photo's yesterday. We know this blog is not just about Preston, but come on, these are just really cute and we thought we would share them with our Dalbey Times readers. Enjoy!

6 Months

The Dalbey Trio had a BIG day today! This morning, Katrina headed to the office for the big move! After 5 hours of loading and unloading boxes - we are now moved out of our 626 building and into the 820 building. There is still a bit of unpacking to do, but things are in good shape and the hope for a bit of normalcy is becoming more of a reality. Steven's day started out by taking Preston to Grammie and Papa's house because he could not attend Peeps due to his cold. Thankfully, Preston is doing well and is happy despite the runny nose. Steven then spent some time meeting with his counseling supervisor and team. He continues to enjoy doing therapy part time and is thankful for the training and experience. Preston spent most of the day with Grammie and uncle Eric before we took him to his 6 month Dr. appointment. Everything checked out A OK and here are his stats: Preston is now 27 1/2 inches long (75th percentile), 17 lbs 1.5 oz (50th percentile) and had a head circumference of 17 inches (30th percentile). We are so thankful for our healthy and growing little boy. As you can also see from the photo's, he is as happy as can be. I still can't belive that Preston is 6 months old. Time sure does fly!

Thank you

On Wednesday's, Grammie Dalbey watches Preston at our house so that Steven and I can work. This is a huge blessing to us in more ways than we can express. Today, I wanted to give a 'shout out' to Grammie on the blog as one way of saying thank you. As you can see by the photo's, Preston loves spending time with Grammie. THANK YOU!

One of Those Days

Today has been one of those days. I am tired, my child is sick (runny nose), the dogs want to go for a walk (I am not taking them for a walk because it is too cold outside), my house is dirty and dusty, there is a HUGE pile of laundry in our bedroom, I am weary about going to work (we are moving office buildings and it is a big stressful), Steven has been gone all day because of meetings, and I have a long list of 'to do' items on a piece of paper that I don't think will get done. Well, welcome to life! I am off to try and get a few things acomplished. Anyone else have these type of days? Oh yes, GO STEELERS!

Smiles and Sitting up

The Dalbey Trio had a WONDERFUL saturday together as a family. We started the day by going to STLBC (St. Louis Bread Co. or Panera for those non STL folks) for breakfast, then headed to the grocery store for some milk, and finished our erands at Lowes to price out a new fence for our backyard. After our morning together, we headed home and had some play time in Preston's room. Now, for the past few weeks, Preston has been learning the art of sitting up all by himself. We can tell that he is getting stronger and more confident each day. Here are just a few photo's of our play time together. Today, the Dalbey Trio is heading to Grandpa's house to cheer the Steelers on to VICTORY!
