Big Day for the Dalbey Family

Big day for the Dalbey family. Steven's dad was inaugurated as the 5th President of Covenant Theological Seminary.  We are so proud of him and thankful to the Lord for this great responsibility and calling.   It was a wonderful day celebrating with the Dalbey family and Seminary community.

Forest Park Balloon Glow

Every year St. Louis hosts the great Forest Park Balloon Race.  Our family has been to the balloon race before...but Preston was only a few months old.  Oh yes, we live very close to Forest Park and see the balloons fly over our house every year.  Its quite amazing.  This year, however, we decided to check out the Friday night balloon glow activities since we had other plans on Saturday.  I was a little nervous about the rain, but it thankfully cleared up and created a magical atmosphere for all.  Here are a few of my pictures.  Oh yes, I am saving my top two photos to enter into this contest.  Wish me luck.

Random

Nothing too exciting to report this week from the Dalbey family.  We have been enjoying some nice weather and spending plenty of time outside.  The big event from our week was trying to remember how many parks we visited.  At least 5 different park this weeks and a few more from last week.  Oh yes, I don't want to forget a trip to the Zoo and the Library.  I am thankful for a part time work schedule so that I can spend time with my family.  The first picture was taken at one of our favorite parks, Rocket Park, near our house.  OK, its actually called Dear Creek Park but the entire theme of the playground is a Rocket Ship.  We also have a picture of the little man in his soccer outfit.  His first game is this Saturday!

The picture above was taken at the Richmond Heights Community Center playground a few days ago.  The flowers are beautiful!!  I also have a sweet picture of Peyton sitting in a firetruck.  I think the little girl wan'ts to be just like her big brother.  So sweet.

Family Hike | Castlewood State Park

The Dalbey Family needed some quality family time.  So, I blocked off time from any other commitments or photo shoots and we headed out on a big adventure.  Preston requested that we go hiking at Castlewood State Park and Steven and I thought that was a great idea.  It turned out to be a beautiful late summer morning.   The weather was cool, but not too cool.  The plants are still green and the morning sun is delightful.  Here are a few photos from our adventure.  Oh yes, both kids can't wait to go back.  I am so thankful we only live 20 minutes from this beautiful park.  I think we need to head out this way more often.

Labor Day

A week ago today was Labor Day.  The Dalbey family took advantage of the nice weather and headed over to Grandad's house for some yummy food and a bit of fun.  Grandad has a GREAT yard on a quiet street. Its perfect for our kids to head out and enjoy a water sprinkler and running around in their swimsuits.  Our little niece, Estella, was also in town and it was so much fun to hang out with her as well.  I have some pictures from my recent trip to visit Stella in Kansas and will post them tomorrow.
Oh yes, with the temperatures predicted to be in the 90's for the next few days I think we will be heading outside a few more times.  I'm so glad I grabbed a kiddie pool at Walmart on sale for $7.  Not bad at all.

We love Birthday Parties

I started working on this post last week...oh well. I am finally able to sit down and post some more happenings in our family.  This post is about a Birthday party that Peyton was invited to a couple weeks ago.  Her friend lives just down the street and it was so much fun for Peyton to hang out with C and other girls her age.   Here are few pictures from the party!

C's mom is a friend of mine from Seminary days.  She was so creative with this party.  Their was a scavenger hung, a stamp art project with fruit and some fun for the girls in their kiddie pool.  I say all were a huge hit with 2/3 year old girls.
