Preston has a girlfriend :)

On Saturday; June 28, 2008, our friend Andrea (with the help of her husband Chris) gave birth to their daughter, Ava Jane Sanders. She weighed in at 7 lbs 10 oz and is super cute. Steven and I both work with Andrea in the Youth Department at Central. When Andrea found out she was pregnant last October she began to pray that I would also get pregnant. I think she needed a pregnancy buddy and I was ok with that. A month later - Preston was on his way! Andrea and I have often said that our children are boyfriend and girlfriend. While I don't want Preston dating until he is quite older (at least 16) I think there is no harm in this baby dating thing. I can't wait to get some cute pictures when Preston is born. By the way - we are 5 weeks out from our due date - wow!

Birthday Party

Last night I went to a Birthday Party for my friends Stephanie & Alyssa. I know these girls from Youth Group when they were in Middle school. Wow - time goes by so quickly. Alyssa and I used to head to St. Louis Smoothie every week for Bible Study (good times). We would discuss theology, culture, friendships and just about anything else that was going on in our lives. Stephanie was on the dance team that I coached and I would hang out with her and a couple other girls every week. It was always an adventure. Our conversations were a mixture between serious, silly or just plain random. I have great memories of being with the Surgener sisters. I am so encouraged to see them becomming beautiful young women. Happy Birthday!

Vacation

Steven & I just returned from a short vacation to Corpus Christi, TX. We traveled with my dad and sister to visit my Aunt & Uncle. We had a great time hanging out on the beach, touring some museums and doing a whole lot of nothing. I love vacation. My Uncle, unfortunately, got very sick before we arrived and spent the entire time in the ICU. He has had liver cancer for a number of years and as you can imagine, this has taken a big tole on his body. We were encouraged to see some improvement in his health while we were there and it was good for us to be there during this time. Here are some pictures from our trip.

Happy Birthday Steven

Even though his Birthday was yesterday, I wanted to say 'Happy Birthday Steven'. We had a lot of fun celebrating his Birthday - complete with a nice lunch together at IL Vicino in Clayton, some yummy Coldstone's Ice Cream for a snack last night and the sounds of the new Coldplay CD. I am looking forward to celebrating many more Birthday's with Steven!

Friend Baby Shower

Steven and I are so thankful for our friends! They gave us a baby shower this past Saturday and it was so much fun! My parents were very gracious to host the event and my sister worked very hard to make sure the house was clean. Here are some pictures...

Youth Baby Shower

It has been a busy week in the Dalbey family so I thought I would take the time to update everyone on what has been going on. Last weekend, before summer camp, the girls from Youth Group gave Preseton a baby Shower. It was so much fun! Here are some pictures.

The gifts!
Preston received some really cool shoes!

Some guys from the youth group gave Preston this cool onesie!

Sweet friends Laura, Megan and Rachael!

We played a game where the girls had to measure how many sqaures of TP would fit around my belly. As of last week it was 10 squares. I think it may be up to 11 or 12 now!

The ZONE camp

This week, Steven and I are at our annual Middle school summer camp - THE ZONE! (Check out http://www.thezonecamp.blogspot.com/) As you can see by the picture, Steven is having a great time driving the golf cart around camp. I also have my own golf cart to help me get around campus quickly. While at camp we spend a lot of time hanging out with students, playing fun games, being outside in the summer sun and teaching students about God and his love for them. Some days are long and difficult, some days go by so fast because we are having fun! Overall, Steven and I enjoy what camp means not only to our students, but to us and our growth in life.

Dress to get Wet

Last night was our 'Dress to get Wet' summer Youth Group event. We invited the students to come to Shaw Park for a fun time. Games included Kiddie Pool Kickball, water balloon toss, a water balloon launch and a some fun with a water balloon fight. As you can see by the pictures, I think everyone had an awesome time! Steven also gave a brief talk about change. You may ask why Steven would choose such a topic and the reason for this is because summer is a big time for change in the lives of students. Many of them will be going to a new school in the fall, some are able to attend Middle school Youth group events for the first time, some students attend new camps or family vacations, and much more. Steven wanted to remind the students that while things around them are changing (good and bad) that God does not change. God's love for students doesn't change because they do, but that He loves them based on what Christ accomplished for them. We hope the students find that youth group this summer is an exciting element of change in their lives. As always, enjoy the pictures!

Pregnancy Update

I am 31 weeks pregnant - yikes! I finally took an updated belly shot yesterday and plan on taking more each week. I could have done a better job of documenting my growth, but you know how things get busy and you just forget. Anyway, here is the belly and all its glory! I continue to be very thankful because things are going well. I went to the doctor this past Friday and he gave me an A+. The baby is growing, his heartbeat is strong, my blood pressure is normal, my weight gain is normal, and I still have enough energy to work full time and even go for a walk around my neighborhood. I hope and pray that the next 9 weeks continue to go well. Steven and I will keep you updated on life in the Dalbey family. Enjoy the picture!
