Busch Stadium

Steven and I were blessed with the opportunity to take Preston to Busch Stadium today and get to walk down on the field and tour the dugouts. I have grown up going to the stadium for Cardinals Games but this was a extra special treat!

Baby Shower

Yesterday morning I hosted a baby shower for a dear friend. Christi and I have known each other since 7th grade. I love Christi's compassion, grace and beauty. I am so thankful that she is doing well and that the little girl growing inside of her is healthy! I can't wait to meet her! Here are a few pictures from the event.

This is a picture of all the Mizzou/RUF girls! Thank you for more than 10 years of friendship, love and encouragement.
Here is a picture of the party planning team! Thank you for all your help and creativity!

Preston update

I wanted to give a quick update on our little man. About 2 weeks ago Preston came down with his third (maybe fourth) ear infection. He was running a high fever and we took him to the doctor to find out what was going on with the little man. After a good 10 days on Amoxicillin he looks and feels a lot better. We took him to Dr. V on Thursday for a follow up appointment and everything looks good - thank goodness. He is now 32 inches long (very tall) and 22 lb 9 oz. I snaped these sweet photo's in the Dr.'s office. Preston carries Mr. Frog just about everywhere!

Alaska

In the past couple weeks, I have seen two, yes two, Alaska License plates. I think this is amazing because Alaska is SO FAR AWAY! Steven and I also played the License plate game while we were on vacation. We saw every plate except Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Vermont and Delaware. Yes, that means we saw a Hawaii plate. We were/are very proud of ourselves. I wish I had taken a picture of the Hawaii plate but I guess I will just have to keep an eye out for another.

The past few days

I am sorry for the lack of posts the past few days. I left my firewire cord at the office one day and didn't want to post without any recent photo's. To start the update I can say that Steven and I had a nice afternoon at the ballgame last Wednesday. It was staff day at the game and it was super nice to get out of the office and be outside. Sadly, the Cardinals lost that day but we still had a great time.
On Friday I had the privledge of going down to Sunshine Ministries for a Pre-Sale Sale. A family in our Church runs this ministry and invited me to purchase some donated Pottery Barn Kids items for a small % of the cost as a donation to the ministry. This was such a blessing as I was able to purchase this sweet child's kitchen set , a quilt and a table with four chairs that I would never have been able to afford at regular price. I am planning on giving the kitchen set to Preston for Christmas and I have set up the table and chairs in his play room. I am sure I will post photo's of this soon.
On Sunday Steven and I were off to Youth Sunday School. Steven is on staff and I am a volunteer. I snapped this sweet photo of me and my friend Lucy. Lucy is a senior and I have known her since she was in 6th grade. I am very close with her and a number of other students and we get together regularly to talk, have fun and share life with each other. I am blessed to be a part of these lives. I will try to get more group photo's from youth events in the days and weeks ahead. I know, I don't have a picture of Steven with some students. I will work on that this Wednesday at Youth Group.
Have a great Monday and I am sure I will post more updates soon.

Trying on Dad's Shorts

Preston decided that he wanted to try on daddy's shorts yesterday. Steve and I had to tie the draw string around his neck but he didn't mind. He was happy to walk into his room and play for a while. I am sure daddy's shoes will be next.

Art Fair

The Dalbey Trio went to the St. Louis Art Fair this past weekend. We walked around for about 2 hours and took in so much beautiful art and culture. Preston also had his chance at making art. They had a kid station where he could dip his finger in an ink pad and make finger drawings. I have proudly displayed his art on the fridge :) One more note, the picture of the landscape below is a pastel drawing from an artist that I particularly liked. Perhaps some day I can add one of her pieces to my collection.

Traveling with Preston

Many of our friends have been asking about how Preston did on the long drive out and back to Arizona. I tell them that Preston did very well and I could not have expected more from a 13 month old. Most of the time he would either be playing with his little trucks (thank you Uncle Dan & Aunt Ruthanne) or his super cool toy school bus or he would be listening to his Toddler Tunes CD (thank you Aunt Kristen). If this wasn't enough we would play a fun game of peek a boo or point out various items outside the window (cow's, trees, trucks, etc...) or feed him a few graham crackers. Sure, there were times when I imagine he was saying "Get me out of this car seat" but he is a trooper and we are so thankful that we made the drive. Here are a few pictures of Preston on our journey and a sweet video that Steven and I like to call "Preston dreams about eating graham crackers".

DeGrazia & Desert Museum

While we are in Tucson, AZ we have visited a few fun places. We started with the DeGrazia museum. It is beautiful! If you get a change to check out the website linked on the left side of the blog I highly recommend the site.
We also visited the Desert Museum which is super cool and kid friendly. We had fun looking at all the desert animals and vegetation. Here are a few photos.
