Preston the photographer

As many of you know, I love photography. I take my camera EVERYWHERE! Preston, I hope, will also love the art of photography. He sure is off to a great start. He took this picture with Steven's phone camera this mornings:
Good job buddy!

Preston is doing better

After getting on some medicine and some R&R at home, Preston is doing MUCH better. He even has energy to play with his Bus (one of his favorite toys). We really enjoy having our little boy back!!

Preston Update

Preston is still sick. We took him to the Dr. this morning and he has an ear infection. He is also still running a fever and isn't eating/drinking very much. He did take some Pedialight this evening and we are hoping he keeps that and his medicine down through the night.

This is the part about being a parent that I don't like. I don't like seeing my son sick and lacking in energy. I wish I could just snap my fingers and make him better, but I know that isn't the way things work. We have to let this 'bug' run its course and do the best we can to be patient as his body heals. I did, however, enjoy going to Target this evening and purchasing a little 'get well' package for Preston. The package included a puzzle, some Elmo books and a video about colors and shapes. I look forward to seeing Preston play with these things when he is better.

Preston is sick

Preston is sick and has been sick for the past few days. He is running a fever on and off and has a horrible cough and runny nose - poor guy. Because he is sick, mommy has had to stay home a couple days from work this week to take care of him. I don't mind too much, especially after being on a Senior High Ski Trip all weekend long. While we are home, we have been reading a lot of books, playing with his trains and doing puzzles. Here are a few pictures from our time together this week. Oh yes, Steven is taking Preston to the doctor today so we hope to give you an update on how he is doing.

This little guy is great at pizzles! I am so impressed that he figured out the correct place for each shape. He also loves the one with the trucks, trains and police cars.

We are back in STL

Steven and I are back in STL after our weekend skiing in Colorado. We had a great time despite being very tired, sore and sick upon our arrival back in the Lou. Here are a few more photos from our trip and a sweet photo of Preston as he was happy to have mommy and daddy home.

18 month check up

We took Preston to the Dr. for his 18 month check up this morning. He continues to be healthy and growing. He weighed in at 26 lbs, 6 oz (50th percentile) and is 34.25 inches (95th percentile). I'm not sure why us mom's like to share this information via our blogs. I think it makes the family out of town smile :) Here ia a photo from our time playing together this morning.

Clear the Snow

Preston helped mommy clear the snow off her car this morning. He is such a good helper.

Spirit Week

Tonight, the Dalbey Trio went to the Spirit Week game at 'The Academy' (Westminster). We went to see some of our students from the Youth Ministry and encourage them by supporting their game and activities. Here are a few pictures from tonight. Please note - this was the second night in a row that we headed out with Preston past his bedtime. Poor guy - he did great, but is so tired. We promised him that we would not go out for a while at night. I think I will find a babysitter next year.

Water

This is my Nalgene Water Bottle. I am trying to do a better job of drinking water/staying hydrated this year. I've noticed that I feel better when I drink water - imagine that. I have heard, from the friendly people at REI, that 90% of the world is dehydrated 90% of the time. WOW. I hope I can work my way into the 10% group.

Playing in the Tent

Steven pulled out our tent the other day and set it up in Preston's room. As you can see by the photos, Preston thought this was so cool. He cried when we took it down. I guess we will be doing some camping this spring/summer! Enjoy the photos.
