The weather was beautiful yesterday and yes, I took Preston outside for a photo shoot. I must say, sometimes I don't know exactly how to express my thoughts or feeling in words on a page. As you may know or have observed, I am not the best writer. I like to express who I am by my photography. If all you see on my blog page are some pictures of our house, Preston or a flower, just know that I am outside doing what I love to do. Maybe I'll do photography for a living someday... someday. For now, enjoy the photo's of Preston.

Preston and Emma
We hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. The Dalbey Trio had a wonderful time with Grammie and Papa Dalbey on Thursday with an afternoon visit to the Perrin house for dessert and then with Grandma and Grandad Denton today. We had some great food, good time to chill out a wonderful time remembering what we are thankful for this year.
While at our visit to the Perrin house, Preston had time to hang out with Miss Emma. They are just so cute together. The picture is of the two of them climbing on the stairs. The video has them holding hands - so sweet.

Thanksgiving is my favorite Holiday
Thanksgiving is my favorite Holiday. Why? Because, I love cooking the turkey with my Grandpa Denton's recipe. I love eating food with family and friends. I love thinking about what I am thankful for. I really like that Thanksgiving is always on a Thursday and I love a holiday that does not involve buying gifts. Why does our culture like to skip Thanksgiving? Why does the month of November roll around and everyone starts putting up their Christmas lights? I don't get it. Perhaps our world would be a better place if we all celebrated Thanksgiving and took the time to remember what we are thankful for. Happy Thanksgiving!

Thank you Grossi
Dear Grossi, The Dalbey Trio would like to thank you for the 'Give Thanks' flag. As you can see, we have it displayed in our front yard and it serves as a great reminder of all we have to be thankful for. Preston has also discovered that he can walk under the flag and is SO proud of himself. Steven and I are so thankful for him and his life. We are also thankful for our family and friends who love and care for us. Enjoy the photos and Video.

Closet = Room
After work yesterday, I had a plan to clean out Preston's closet. While in process, I decided to turn the closet space into a reading room. The room turned out so nice, complete with the alphabet on the wall, a spare piece of carpet that Grandad Denton gave us on Sunday and an old bookshelf that used to live at our old office building and almost got thrown in the dumpster. I feel like we added on to our house even though we only spent $10 on a shower rod to hang up a curtain and hide the landing/storage space that goes up to our attic. After I was finished, Preston and I spent almost 45 minutes reading in his new room. I look forward to more reading time. Enjoy the photo's.

I am not sure when kids are supposed to learn how to do this, but Preston has taken an eager interest in learning how to drink from a cup. Enjoy the video.

More Yellow Leaves
This morning, Steven and I took Preston outside again for another fun photo shoot with the beautiful yellow leaves. I love watching Preston's personality emerge. Enjoy the photos!
We also had a visitor from our friend Nathan and his sweet daugheter, Ophelia. We hope to have another play date with them very soon!

Photo with fall leaves
Our tree turned yellow this week and started to drop its leaves. I decided this would be a great time to break out the Steelers Sweatshirt and take Preston outside for a photo shoot. I hope you enjoy the photo's. Oh yes, the last photo is my favorite because it shows that Preston is just like his daddy :)

Hershey
Today, I almost witnessed something terrible. Our dog, Hershey, ran out into the street and bumped up against a van that was driving by. Since we believe that she is ok, here is the story: I took the dogs (Hershey & Bailey) out to the back yard this afternoon with Preston so that we could play. I was also going to try to rake the leaves and remembered that I had left the rake in my car from a service project at Youth Group on Wednesday. So, I took Preston with me to go to the car and 'thought' that I closed the gate behind me. Before I could do anything Hershey had opened the gate and was running out into the busy street. I tried to yell for her to stop but that didn't work. I saw her run out and then bump up against the side of a van driving by. I am so thankful that she didn't get hit head on. Now, I still have Preston in my arms and when I realized that Hershey was still alive and running, I continued to chase after her. I finally cornered her a few houses down and started to bring her back home. The lady who was driving the van was so nice to stop and ask if our dog was ok. At this point I am completely exhausted from trying to catch the dog and tears are running down my face. I thanked the kind lady for stopping and told her that I thought our dog was ok. She then asked if she could do anything but I told her I would just take our dog home and get my son to a safe place. As of right now, Steven and I believe that Hershey is ok. We haven't seen any limping or heard any whining. Steven did a check to see if she would wimper if we touched any of her bones and she didn't make a sound. We are going to keep an eye on her and are just very thankful that she seems to be ok. I also think Preston is ok and may not even remember what happened. Sometimes Hershey can drive me crazy. She likes to wake up every morning at 6am to go outside and eat her breakfast. I am not a big fan of this early routine since I choose not to get up till 7am. Despite Hershey's crazy schedule, I am so thankful we didn't loose her today.
