Being a mom to a two and a half year old and a 4 week old is a day by day adventure. Some days are great b/c both children sleep well at night. For Preston this would be sleeping a full night and Peyton going anywhere from 4-5 hours straight during the night. If they sleep well, then I sleep well...or as well as possible for someone in my situation. Today has been a good day b/c Peyton had a 5 hour sleep stretch last night - way to go girlfriend. Preston also slept through the night. Yesterday was difficult, however, b/c Peyton woke up every 3 hours the night before and was a bit fussy yesterday morning. This is what I looked like yesterday afternoon - completely exhausted.
Oh yes, did I mention that I went back to work last week. Yes, I am serious. Anyway, despite my sleep deprived state and our crazy schedule, I am truly thankful for my two children and the precious gift they are to Steven and me. I try to remind myself each day that it is a blessing to have children - not a burden or some afterthought. Even though some days are hard and I am completely wiped out and have had no time for myself I try to look at each child and see how beautiful and wonderful God has made them. I also believe that He will sustain me each day despite the difficulties and trials. I hope I don't sound cheesy because I mean every word.
Here are a couple pics of the kiddo's. Here is Peyton. She has started to 'play' with her toys and it is super sweet to watch.
Here is Preston holding his new stuffed Monkey from Aunt Sue. He has named him Mango.

hang in there katrina! it is definitely much harder going from 1 to 2 little people to care for! It gets easier as they get older...and I love reading your reflection on what a blessing they are, it's helpful to focus on that when moments are hard. your picture of yourself is like embracing motherhood :) The pictures of P and P are both so cute! I love when tiny babies start to notice toys....its so sweet, and I love Prestons name for his new monkey! Super funny! Love you guys!
