Today was just another Tuesday and a great day to take Preston outside for yet another photo shoot! I think he looks so cute in his blue and white sweater and hat. He also continues to be in the early stages of crawling! He will get up on his hands and knees and start rocking. We will keep you posted on his progress. Oh yes, a couple days ago I (Katrina) was putting Preston in the car and did something to my back. I'm not sure if it is just a simple muscle strain or something just out of place but all I can say is that it hurts. It hurts when I get up, it hurts when I pick Preston up and it is a big downer! My hope and prayer is that it gets better soon. I will also keep you posted on how I feel in the next few days. As always, enjoy the photo's of Preston!

Children and Work
Due to spring break, I have had to bring Preston to work with me a couple times this week. This really hasn't been the best arrangement as I have found it very hard, almost impossible, to get my work accomplished. I just can't stop being ' mom' while at work and even though Preston did fairly well playing with some toys and his gal pal Ava, I still had to check on him every few minutes which hindered my focus on various tasks. Also, trying to put him down for a nap was impossible! He just didn't like all the different noises and I ended up just going home. I think I will just work from home in the future. Now, I did take a couple photo's of Preston and Ava which are really cute! The first photo is from yesterday and the next two photos are from today - enjoy!

Weekend Update
The Dalbey Trio traveled to Topeka, KS with Grandad Denton to visit Aunt Tracey this weekend. We had a wonderful visit and enjoyed shopping at the antique stores, watching basketball (Go Mizzou!) and spending time together. While antique shopping, Grandad Denton bought Preston a super cool tool box that we will need to fill in the years ahead. As you can see by the photo's, it was a beautiful weekend and everyone had a good visit.

Outside
It has been so nice the piast couple days that I decided to take Preston outside for some play time and a photo shoot today. While at the park, he had a great time sitting in the grass, playing with the leaves, swinging on the swing and looking around at the other children playing. I think he wanted to jump up and go play with them. I enjoyed being out of the office and soaking up all the sun. I think I am finally getting over my SAD from winter! Enjoy the photo's.

Fun with Food
Here is Preston in his high chair after chowing down on some sweet potatoes. I just love that smile!
Preston had some mashed potatoes and it looks like he grew two front teeth. Hmmm...I hope his real teeth don't look like this.

Here is a video of Preston trying a Cheerio. I love the progression from being a bit confused and disgusted to contentment and actually liking the food.

Weekend Update
The Dalbey Trio had another great weekend. On Friday we took our Middle school students on a laser tag adventure and had a great time. I need to try my hand at laser tag more often!
On Saturday we spent time with Grammie and Papa Dalbey. It was nice to just relax and have a little extra help with Preston. On Sunday after Church we had lunch with Uncle Eric and Cousin Ben at Red Robin. As you can see by the photo - Preston had a great time and really enjoyed getting his first balloon! Oh yes, thank you to Uncle Eric for lunch and Congratulations to Cousin Ben for being accepted into Covenant Seminary's Counseling program. We are SO excited to have you and Erin here in STL this fall. Enjoy the photo and when I have more energy I will post more details of how life is with the Dalbey Trio. Happy Monday!

Update
I would like to update our readers on Preston's condition after posting that he was diagnosed with a minor ear infection yesterday. We have good news to report - Preston has been without a fever all day long and he has been sleeping more wich indicates that his body is fighting the infection. Preston also sat through an hour long lecture and discussion time at our Church tonight. I was impressed that he wanted to sit on my lap, play with his toys and drink his bottle. He is indeed a sweet baby and I am happy that he is doing well while functioniing at less than 100%. Steven and I are thankful for his improvement and pray for a full recovery.
Oh yes, I also believe that Preston likes listening to our Pastor, Dr. Doriani. :) I remember when Preston would wiggle around inside my tummy when he would hear Pastor Dan's voice. It is very sweet to see him recognize people. Now, as far as the lecture and discussion tonight, I would recommend going to our Church website, www.centralpres.com and listening to Dr. Doriani's talk on the roles of women in the Church. Even if you are only slightly interested in this subject, I hope it would be a wonderful learning opportunity for you. Enjoy!

Sick
To the Doctor
Preston has not been feeling well today. He has gunk coming out of his nose & eyes and his temp is at 100.0 degree. We think he may have an ear infection and definitely needs some eye drops. So, we are off to see Dr. Vermont today. This is our first trip to the doctor outside of our regular appointments so I am not complaining. I just hope the little guy feels better soon. We will keep our readers posted with more details.

7 Months Old
Preston is 7 months old today! Oh my goodness, our little boy is growing up before our very eyes! He continues to bring Steven and me so much joy and we watch eagerly to see what he will do/leran next. To date, he is sitting up very well, can roll over whenever he wants, claps his hands (which is early), pushes himself up wtih his arms while on his tummy and is starting to push himself backward and rock while on his tummy. We are confident that he is on the verge of crawling and are trying to 'baby proof' our home. I am sure we will learn as we go.
As far as life goes for mom and dad - I think we are doing well. I (Katrina) am still working around 25 hours a week and 'trying' to keep up with other things I enjoy like photography, friends, art and keeping up with our home. I have days when I am completely exhausted but I think I am doing well for the most part. Steven continues to work full time at Central Pres in the Youth Ministry Dept. He believes that his Counsling training at Covenant continues to be a huge blessing in his life at work and personally. Steven and I are also trying to plan a Dalbey Family vacation this summer. We are thinking about heading out to Colorado for some good old R and R. I am sure we will give you more details as they become available.
One last thing: thank you to everyone who has supported the Dalbey Trio these past 7 months - we are so thankful for everyone's love and encouragement. Enjoy the photo's!

Nakey Baby and Moynihan
Preston loves playing with his blocks
Here are a couple pictures of Preston with the Moynihan "Introduction to the Law of Real Property' book. This book is significant because there is a picture of me (Katrina) with this book in hand when I was preston's age. I guess you could say its now 'tradition' to take a photo with this book in hand. Dad - this is for you!
