Mr. Froggy

Some of you may know that Preston has a very special friend.  His name is Mr. Froggy and he has been with Preston since birth.  He sleeps with Preston, cuddles with Preston, keeps him company when he plays and when he eats.  Mr. Froggy travels with us to the playground, the grocery store and even on vacation.  I have to wash Mr. Froggy multiple times a week b/c he can also get dirty very quickly.  Mr. Froggy is very important even to the point that we had to find another Mr. Froggy to have on hand in case the 'real' Mr. Froggy disappeared. Thank goodness that hasn't happened.  We pray this never happens.  Oh yes, Preston can tell the difference between the two - quite intelligent is our little man.  You may have seen a picture of Preston with Mr. Froggy from time to time on our blog.  Here is another picture I thought I would share with our readers.  I think it is quite clear in this picture how important Mr. Froggy is to our little man.

Random Pictures

I just thought I would upload a couple random pictures from some family time yesterday evening.  Preston was having a great time reading books and playing with his toys.
Peyton was also having fun playing with toys and working on standing as mommy held her.
The Dalbey family has been enjoying some wonderful family time this weekend!  We are thankful.

New Clothes

Last week I opened the 6 - 12 month bin of clothes for Peyton.  She is one lucky girl.  Here is a sweet video of Peyton checking out the 'new' items.  Oh yes, we took her to the Dr. on Tuesday and she is doing well.  She is in the 70 - 80th percentile for weight and height and the 40th percentile for head circumference.  Not bad.  Most importantly, she is healthy and happy.  Enjoy the video :)

We made the news

One of the many things we enjoy doing as a family is going for a nice long walk.  Last night was a beautiful night here in STL so we packed the kids in the double stroller and headed out.  We turned on the street parallel to ours and the neighbors were having a block party.  We have some friends who live on this street so we decided to head over and say hi.  While we were hanging out a young man from the newspaper in our area asked if he could take our picture.  We agreed and now our faces are in the Patch online newspaper.  Here is the link to the article.  http://clayton-richmondheights.patch.com/articles/photos-national-night-out-unites-richmond-heights-neighborhoods#photo-7846787.  Oh yes, we really enjoyed meeting some new neighbors and visiting with friends.  I am really enjoying our area and look forward to becoming more involved in our community.

Peyton is 6 months old

Today is Peyton's 6 month Birthday!!  Here are a couple photos from our photo shoot this morning!  You can see more photos of Peyton on my Facebook photography page or my blog at www.AllThingsSimplePhotography.blogspot.com
She continues to be a healthy and happy Baby.  Some of her big accomplishments the past month are learning to sit up, say a few words, and almost sleeping through the night.  We have tried feeding her some cereal and first foods but she prefers nursing.  I don't mind.  Its very sweet and I will continue to introduce her to table food...when I find the extra time :)

Peyton talks!

Tuesday's Art Project

Yesterday's art project was the Letter C.  We are slowly making our way through the alphabet and finding creative items to cover each letter.  This week we used an old road map.  Here is the letter.
 Next, our map.
 Glue it on
 TA DA!
Next week, the letter W - Preston's choice!

Photo Shoot

I took the kiddos outside for another photo shoot this morning. Here are some sweet images that I captured. My favorite: this picture of Preston holding Peyton. He continues to be a very loving big brother. I am thankful!

Picnic

Today, I had a picnic dinner with Preston and Peyton. The weather is beautiful and it would have been a shame to eat indoors. I grilled up some burgers and we enjoyed our dinner together outside. Here is our table.
Preston was very hungry and quickly at his burger :)
He was also so good to drink his milk. A picture of our food...or what was left at this point. Finally, sweet Peyton enjoying the nice weather.

The weekend

The Dalbey family had a very nice Labor Day weekend. We spent some wonderful time together as a family and enjoyed the beautiful weather on Sunday/Monday. I wish we had a 3 day weekend at least once a month...perhaps then we would all be refreshed on a more regular basis. I had so much extra time to relax, organize, catch up with friends, play with my children, etc... Here are a few photos. First a picture of Peyton on Friday evening in her Cardinals T. Next, a picture of Preston outside playing in the water and blowing some bubbles. It was still very hot that evening. Steven let me take Saturday to head out on a day trip with some girls in my high school small group. We traveled down to Sikeston for a yummy lunch at Lamberts and then on to Cape Girardeau for some Antique shopping. We had a blast! I love these girls so much and am so thankful for each one of them.
I found this beautiful piece of stained glass at an Antique store and purchased it for a window in our home. I have been looking for a piece this for some time and love how it brings life to the window above our landing. On Monday, we headed over to Grandad Denton's house to visit. Preston and Peyton had a great time playing with their cousin, Alice.
As I mentioned, I even had some time to clean. I haven't seen the family/dining room this clean in months!

The Letter B and friends

This past week I worked on my own art project for the alphabet wall. I took some green twine and covered the letter B. Here is the work in process:
Here is my finished work. Total cost = 1.99 + 2.49 = 4.48
Here is an art project Preston and I did a few weeks ago. These buttons were purchased at at Antique store in Amarillo, TX. I have added this cross to my 'cross wall' in the kitchen.
Preston and I also ventured out of the house last Tuesday to visit with Miss Beth and Miss Miranda. Miss Beth is my friend from Seminary and her husband, Zane, is good friends with Steven in the youth ministry world. This little girl, Miss Miranda, is a few months younger than Preston and they played well together. They are both SO tall for their age.
I'm looking forward to the weekend - fun time to hang out with friends this Labor Day weekend.
